Life and Times in the South

So maybe it's been a week or so since my last post... hubby reminds me daily.

I dont really know what my deal has been. Thursday-Monday we were traveling to Ohio to see me mom- pictures to come once I manage to upload. Then the rest of this week just seems to have been a blur.

Today I have such a heavy heart for all the storm victims. My thoughts and prayers are with them as I cant help but to keep looking at these pictures. It is so incredible and devistating at the same time. I am the first to admit I love a good thunderstorm. The weather and storms and the whole thing just fascinates me. If I could have any job in the world I would LOVE to be the weather girl.

Onward....

My life has been pretty normal as of late. Really not too much to blog about. Work, home, typical life errands the works....

This weekend I am going home to see....

Yes- its been like 4 weeks since I've seen daddy so homeward bound I go while hubs gets the free weekend off to do... well probably nothing since I wont be there to create a chore list :).

Our Easter trip to Ohio was wonderful... relaxing, rainy weekend doing absolutely nothing... like i said.... pictures to come!

Isn't this post exciting?! Im pretty unmotivated and exciting right now. So please excuse if I am slightly absent the next small bit. I need something new and fun.... Anyone else just get blah and routine about life?!

Please State Your Full Name...

Let me explain....
Yesterday I hate traffic court. I was in a mild panic all day.... nervous about what they would say, how much it would cost (damn Doraville Police Department- as much as you cost me I surely hope you all drive Range Rovers and live in 4,00square foot houses)

Anyways....so I get there early, get the 1st spot in line for court, sit and wait for the solicitor to plea my case. Soo in front of ALL the other highly sophisticated traffic violators (People watching was awesome) the solicitor asks me to state my full name... uhh hmm....
Jessica Lauren Putman.
Solicitor: MAM please state your full name as listed on your DL
Jessica Putman Bills

Seriously.... how retarted can I be?! In front of all these people (WITH my lovely sling on that is) and I can't even state my real name vs my new married name. S.H.O.O.T. M.E! So After feeling like a complete moron... he erases my ticket... and charges me $196. Great. Grand. Where do I pay. And where can I now not go shopping for the rest of the day....

Sooo off I went for a much needed pedicure, shopping around Macy's and actually got to spend 3 whole hours with hubby befre work. I could easily get used to the not working thing....
I've said that 2398342 times before I KNOW.

In other exciting fascinating news from the girl who cannot state her own name correctly... I did it. After 5 days of sitting in my shopping bag, and to much thanks from all your sweet comments I did it. And I cannot wait for her to arrive (her being the dress). Ive decided I want a pink accent so Im on the hunt for a big fun (not $50 thank you macys) hat and some super cute sandals. More to come!

Weekend In Review

Well its Monday again... if you feel anything like me it came WAY too soon and the weekend was WAY to short. Blah.... I am never in a good mood Monday Mornings...

Here is our weekend in review without all the nitty gritty details... Sidenote- While Im thinking about it-

Don't get me wrong. I LOVE hearing about the fun everyone has on the weekends. BUT and I mean a big BUT.... It drives me up the wall when bloggers go into every single freaking detail... I dont need to know what you had for breakfast, lunch, dinner, snack, how long you showered and how many different outfits you tried on before going out..... Drives me bonkers! (told you Im not in a good mood on Mondays)

Onward....

Friday night was Tornado night... or husband laughing at me because I made him, the girls, my wine, his beer, and the radar up on the laptop all get in the basement and clean out the closet just in case. It was some kind of an awful storm. However we were spared.... North Carolina.... not so much. My heart goes out to these people today.

*courtesy of HERE If you get a minute look through these... pretty amazing (and im obsessed with storms)
Poor TSC.... This is just awful

This is the Lowes that got destroyed that everyone has been talking about- NO deaths here!

Another view....

Breaks my heart... these are peoples homes

How incredible...

Saturday was the Orange and White game... gave me chills just seeing them out on the field... only a few more months until Football season is back!! I am beyond excited. Saturday evening I persuaded hubby to go to Chattanooga, TN to meet Lauren and Brett for dinner- Its only an hour from Marietta, I NEEDED to just cross into Tennessee state lines and it had been FOREVER since I had some besties interaction. Needless to say we didnt take one single picture. But we had a blast. MUCH. Needed.

Sunday was church, weekly trip to Home Deopt/ Lowes, planted flowers, grilled out, relaxed and enjoyed the hubby. Perfection.
On other notes...

This guy is sitting in my shopping cart at Macy's. I'm thinking Steeplechase dress. I am in love... I just cant quite pull the trigger.... with a big hat and cute wedges?! YES?!

I own the weirdest dog in the world. She loves to lay on shoes. How is this comfortable I have no idea....

Or the side of the coffee table... The dog will need to end up at the Chiropractor for neck issues.Cute though isnt she....

I made this dressing I posted about last week... SUPER easy... SUPER amazing.... Highly reccomend!

I also made the Key Lime Pie recipe from last week.... DELISH! Seriously I am limiting myself to one per day.... I am making them for Easter this weekend as well.... more to come of this upcoming week... lots going on!

HAPPY MONDAY

Lets have a moment of homesick honesty....

So I will probably cry writing this entire post....

And I don't even know why... my week hasnt been fun so far...mainly being soo busy and not fun at work. So tonight, as always when I get home from work, I called Daddy to have our nightly chat. Tonight he was at this big fun event in Chatanooga for work with my step-mom. I had remembered he had it but completely forgot when I called- I instantly said oh I forgot call me later- I mean daddy is quite important, and at a business gala thing, to which he replies no honey lets talk and walks out of wherever loudness he was.
How wonderful of a daddy to walk out of his own event to talk to his 24 year old married daughter to just say hello and how was your day. He truly is the most wonderful, amazing father you could EVER ask for.

I am 24 years old...going on 25 soon and I dont think there has been a day in my life daddy and I haven't talked. Even for 5 minutes just to say hello, I love you and just to catch up... (here come the tears). For any of you regulars- you know how close daddy and I are.

Which brings me to my next part... I am homesick. I am miserably homesick. Not miserable. But miserably homesick. I miss my parents.

I miss being home on sundays, sitting outside drinking wine and shooting the shit with my dad and step mom. They seriously are the coolest parents in the world.

I miss everything about home. About Tennessee. About my wine nights with Bree. Dinner dates with Michelle. Work friends, work for that matter, I miss knowing where the hell I am in the city. I miss HOME.

Ok so yes, I'm throwing a pitty party for myself. Yes I'm feeling completely sorry for myself. And I don't know why... husband and I have a FAN-TASTIC house here we are renting, we are obsessed with our church, we have awesome friends we have met that we love, husband loves what he is doing in school- and good at it mind you. Somethings here could be better.... yea umm.... in process.

But I'm ready to go home. I need a week to just be in Tennessee and be home. Or a month. Or Forever.

OK for all 2 of you who are still reading my wallering in self pitty I am done! Time to go pour a glass of wine. Thank you for being my sounding board.

It's Monday Already!?

Happy Monday... or if your anything like me as I was pulling into the work parking lot I could have sworn I was just here a few hours ago!

We had a fun and exciting weekend... Friday night was the typical open a bottle of wine, catch up from the week with the hubs and in the bed by 10. Exciting....

Saturday was off to the ballpark for some good ole opening weekend baseball. Our seats were amazing-we sat with the player's moms! Listening to them the entire game was enough fun for me! We absolutely LOVE some baseball games... small perk of living in Atlanta....

Saturday night after the game I think we were both exhausted... we headed to downtown Marietta on the square and ate at the Marietta Pizza Company....

Let me state a quick statement on this.
We dont have kids.... thats fine that you do.
However because you decide to have a group date with all 10 of your kids together
You should probably recongnize and be decently considerate enough to...
Make. Your. Kids. BEHAVE.
All we wanted was a quick quiet dinner and relaxing outside eating our pizza
And these parents don't make their kids mind their manners and they are throwing ranch dressing everywhere, pizza everywhere, yelling, screaming and acting like total brats
I'm sorry... but if you were our child.... you would NOT under any circumstances act like that,
Kids are kids... we get that. But oh my goodness.
You ruined everyone elses dinner plans for that night with any sort of sanity

Onward.... Sunday after church and lunch it was all about spending time at the house and in the yard... hubs worked on the mainly things/ 2 hands required things and I.... ummm took a nap outside :) Ok ok I did other things too...

Pictures in review....

Sweet Grace is going to get her head stuck inbetween those slats one of these days

The start of the garden for this year

Our birdhouse.... Tennessee colors and ready for its first tenant....

Last night after a long day... tiki torches in all... soo peaceful

After dinner relaxing on the deck... love!

My latest clearance find at TJ Maxx.... $5! Putting a bug candle in there for the deck

My latest read... simple easy no thinking required girl kinda book!

And thought I would throw this in there too... Step momma got a new car this weekend.... 2011 Accord. I was impressed!

So there you have it... randomness at its best! I dare anyone to top that excitingness of a weekend :)

PS.... First day of physical therapy today.... well not too much physical mainly the PT moving my shoulder around. So far, so good... or was that just the Hydro pain killer I took this morning?! We shall see :)

You want what you cant have

..... No worries, this is not a very deep in thought kinda post. Really its just me dreaming of the future.... which happens to have to wait a bit longer than most due to the hubs being in school.

Don't get me wrong I am sooo proud of him for following his dream and doing this whole Doctor thing to support us as a family.... yea it sucks....thats an understatement right now. But I keep trying to remind myself this will pay off.

I miss my parents like crazy. I tear up just thinking about missing daddy. I went from seeing him everyday and living with him before the wedding to now once a month if I'm lucky. Its awful. I'm horrible homesick.

And I want to buy a house.... yea. Umm... I'm crazy about house searching and the truth of the matter is we are still 2 years off. Well maybe 1 year and 9 months. I want my own house to paint and decorate and have to be proud of.

On hold for now... I hate waiting....poor hubs puts up with my constant house searching... I know he feel bad... I'd feel bad if I were him too....
JOKING...

Current Love:
It's different.... I think thats why I like it

I LOVE a big open staircase

Big kitchen, big window... sold!

Yes mam that is a double-sided fireplace in the master/ bathroom.I'm dreaming about that tub

Hello MY walk-in closet :)

Sooo there you have it.... my house hunting at its best... and its in our price range...ummm.... to-be price range.

Next subject: soo Jeremy and I are a solid 5 years from kids. We want him to graduate from school, get a house, job, have some money to pay off  his loans and live a little before kids. Now with all that said... I absolutely cannot wait to be a mom. We have all our children's names picked out and I even have thought about nursery ideas.... is that crazy?! I mean seriously....FIVE YEARS from now we are talking....

But I already have my thoughts on what I want *her*- yes I will have a little girl-or I'm praying super super super hard to the Lord I will- nursery will consist of...

I want the big overstuffed rocking chair
I want the 2-tone painted stripes on the wall
I dont like "baby" themed bedding. I want it pretty and sweet
Must have a chandelier in the room
Love the big pretty drapes on the windows
Must have beadboarding on the bottom
The crib- hubby and I are still at large on the style.

There are very few pictures I see I like.... but of the ones I could find:

Beadboard around the bottom half. Love the light blue and monogram on top

I dont know what I like about this bedding.... but its cute

In LOVE with this sleigh crib, and the simple prettiness of this room

The round crib kinda is unique. and I love the theme and colors in this!

How stinkin cute is this for a boy? And the overstuffed chair-minus the color

Mainly like the monogram on the curtains here. Other than that... not so much!

The END!  Hope yall have a fabulous weekend. Tonight is Friday relax night-aka wine and Say Yes to the Dress! Tomorrow is busy busy with the Braves game, security system man and house stuff!! Yay for another 80 degree weekend at home! Loving it!
