What I'm Loving Wednesday

Happy Hump Day!! I thought I would chime in for some What I'm Loving Wendesday to dig deep and try and pull out the positives in life right now in such a time of heartache.

I'm Loving that it's about to be a long weekend. Memorial Day usually means a weekend full of lake lake and more lake. However with the current family situation it will be less tanning and drinking and more spending time with the true meaning behind happiness- FAMILY. I would be lying if I wasnt even a bit sad about not being at the lake all weekend... but I will have so much more peace getting to spend time with my Pa at the hospital.

I'm Loving my new phone. It was upgrade time for hubs... before you think I stole his upgrade just listen... he cares nothing about phones. But he needed something new- so he decided he would take my blackberry that I just got and I could get a new something since I actually care about cute and fun phones. I dont know why....call me crazy... but I didnt want the iphone. Daddy has a Droid X and loves it....and now so do I.... L.O.V.E.! Obsessed. I'm officially in big kid awesome phone world!

I'm loving that I am eating awful as of late (insert extreme sarcasm here). Yes, I'm a little beyond stressed, typically I dont eat when I'm stressed, and I havent really for that matter. But when I have... hmmmm I was craving a cheeseburger the other day, add some fried rice I was dying to have, Corn dip that was leftover in the fridge.... yea NOT good. Whats the deal?! It's either no calories or 500 calories in one sitting. UGH

(looks good doesnt it) :) Your welcome
I'm loving  my family, my husband and my friends right now who have been ohh soo supportive. Hubby knows just how to piss me off to get my mind off of everything and on to why he doesn't think at times :) (all with love honey, all WITH love), my daddy who picks on me and everything I say to get out a small laugh and maybe break the tension of just about E.V.E.R.Y conversation. My wonderful friends who are texting, emailing, facebooking you name it checking in on me. Including my blog friends. I can't tell you how many emails I just cried because of your sweet words and similar situations. it compeltely helps me through the day!

I think God gets it....

Soo you all have seen my blog over the last week or so... I just haven't been myself. Really to be honest I've been a complete mess. I cry at LEAST 2-3 times a day, I feel like I have more on me than I can handle and to be REALLY honest I feel myself daily at some point saying WHY God are you doing this right now. Why can't I have a small ray of light SOMEWHERE in my life.

Little did I know I have it... not in an event or a thing or heeling right now but in the people He has surrounded me with. Let me explain:

My poor husband. He knows I am a trainwreck. He watches me randomly start crying, which turns saddness into anger and anger into questioning. He just sits there and lets me cry, listens to rant and question why everything under the sun seems to be wrong. He doesn't get mad when I dont ask how his tests at school or how his work was that day, or why I haven't worked out and instead drinking my wine and doing nothing productive. He just deals with me, with us, with this situation. God put him in my life for a reason. He knows I need my husband now more than ever. I need to cry on him and I need him to care right now.... God gets it.... I am the one too consumed to "get" it

Then you have my daddy. I see how much I am struggling through this.... my goodness I can't imagine what my dady is going through... watching his own father go through this. HE is sitting at the hospital day in and day out watching this all unfold. Then he comforts me, he comforts Pa, he continues to be a provider, a father, a husband and right now, most importanly, a son. I came to realize all this last night. I was soo upset over everything.... and it hit me.... I need to not JUST focus on me and this situation but how this is hurting everyone else in this family just as much as me.

I  HAVE to get back on track. I have to take care of myself, and my husband, our home, our dogs, our finances. I have to. This weekend is the start of that... I was going to run home so I could be at the hospital but I need to be here. I need to take some time to relax, work on our house and just get back to life. So... here's to this weekend... sweet husband scheduled me a massage for tomorrow morning. Then its off to running some errands, maybe work in the yard and even get some tanning going on. Here's to putting God back in control and letting him take over. Clearly I can't do this on my own.

*Sidenote: so last night after I got home and was changing clothes I saw a missed call on my phone... listen to the voicemail... its our head pastor at our church calling to check in on me and my Pa. OK...backtrack.... I serve on our hospitality team... I sent the lady in charge of it all an email just saying "hey I have a lot family wise going on, my grandpa is sick, I will be home most weekends and not able to serve for a little bit" That was IT. No please pray or pass along to our senior pastor kinda thing. I was shocked. Within 3 hours of me sending that email the message got all the way around to our Pastor- Ike- and he was calling me. I felt like I was talking to someone famous.... It was amazing. He cared that much about my Pa, and really about us and our family and how we were doing. It was amazing. Really brought peace to my heart. We talked for almost 20 minutes about any and everything you could imagine. It was so humbling and just amazing. Pretty incredible the things God can do in the smallest way to make the biggest difference.

Soo I'm done on my soap box.... Hope you all have a WONDERFUL weekend! I appreciate all your sweet comments. It really helps throughout the day.

Catch up

I don't really feel like blogging these days. Actually all I want to do is sit in the hospital with Pa and make sure he is ok.

I dont want to be at work, or in Atlanta , or sitting on the interstate for nearly 2 hours because people cannot drive in this city. I want to be home. In Nashville... sitting in a loud hospital, being able to watch the doctors take care of Pa and knowing he is in good hands.

I know my family has it all under control... but they are ALL there except me. Everyone gets to take care of him EXCEPT me. It's soo frustrating.

Soo needless to say I can't focus on much today.

Steeplechase on Saturday was a bust... it was cold and rainy and hard to get into the spirit more less having a lot on my mind. I loved getting to be home an extra day (yesterday) and I got in some good quality time with daddy at the hospital too.

I'm not much fun right now... just kinda one of those times. I need SOMETHING to brighten this all up.

Here are a few pictures from steeplechase... the rest are on my camera....to be uploaded, along with Easter pictures, and Bree's engagement, and the rest of my life :)

Happy Tuesday! Hopefully everyone else is having a better week(s) than me.

That thing called life....

Soo its been forever since my last blog. Forgive me... lots going on in my world and blogging just hasnt been at the top of the charts lately. We have been sooo busy... Short and sweet recap:

This past friday one of my bestest got engaged... she was completely shocked and it was absolutely P-E-R-F-E-C-T!! Her now fiance did such an amazing job. Now the countdown begins...

Saturday was BUSY! We didn't get home until 2 am (which is LATE in old married world :) )Then it was up early for a hair appointment, cleaning, cooking and driving myself nuts until the party got underway. The cookout was a huge success and too much fun was had. We  WILL be doing that again... maybe just someone else hosting :)

Once Sunday came around hubby and I were exhausted. It was church, followed by a 2 hour nap and a lazy day of nothing and watching a movie...Speaking of movie. We watched Unstoppable... about the train. Best movie I have seen in a while. Not all the romance side story BS just good action movie

I fele this week has been long slow and I can't seem to feel rested. I need a good solid 12 hour sleep night... anyone else ever get like that?!

Soo this brings us to yesterday. And my verse up top.... I truly believe God never lets us get too comfortable in life. We have to continue to give thanks, depend on  Him and rely on our faith. Yesterday I hit a brick wall... and hard.

My grandpa has been sick... he ha NEVER been sick and always in perfect health so this has been hard really coming to grips with this. He is always so strong... so to see him struggle absolutely tears me apart. He has A CAT scan today to hopefully determine what is wrong... it truly is the hardest thing to even think about losing someone you love that much. I cried at least 4 or 5 time yesterday even at the smallest thing.... Watching TV and they show a funeral...bam.... grandpa on comercial...bam!! UGH. On top of all of that I have hinted a lot at some personal changes... NO its not Preggo! And I still cant quite discuss, but yesterday was just a BIG set back, I had my hopes up, I was excited and I got slammed back to the ground. Back to square one. Back to the trenches. Back to the miserableness of it all.

Isn't life funny sometimes... it goes from easy, to perfect, to overjoyed, to the lowest of lows and hardest of hard.
This weekend we will be in Nashville for Steeplechase- I think this will be good to get my mind off of everything. To sit back relax and enjoy with friends. I cannot wait!! We are also going to see my grandparents and spend some time with them. Time is so valuable and it sucks that we have to experience things like this to make us realize that .

So sorry this isnt the cheeriest of posts. Life is tough sometimes. I know you all go through it too... Here is to another day, another chance and another day living in God's plan not mine :)

What I'm Loving Wednesday

Happy Hump Day!! This week has already been up and down for me but today... Today has been an amazing Wednesday and Im loving it! A lot of good things going on and I finally feel like my peppy pepster of myself....
Lame I know!!

I'm loving my new motivation and actually sticking with it and  losing weight. I'm sticking to around 1300 calories a day and working out everyday doing my Jillian Michael's videos. She is completely kicking my ass and I love it! I would love to lose 20-30 pounds *trust me I have the room to* by my birthday in August!

I'm LOVING still stalking anything and everything royal wedding related. YES.... I am that girl! But they are soo stinkin cute, she was beautiful and I want to be them. THE END

I'm loving tomorrow is Cinco De Mayo!! Hello Margarita specials, friends and a packed Mexican restaurant!!

I'm loving that this Saturday we are hosting a cookout at our house with all our friends! Grilling, lots of food, homemade sangria, corn hole, ladder golf, music and sure to be a good time! Hubby and I are busy getting the house just perfect and ready to go!

I'm loving being a Proud American! I cannot get enough of hearing about our Navy Seals that went in and dominated and well... kicked some Osama ass! Just gives me chills thinking about it!

I'm loving my sweet Pa who has been struggling lately being sick. It has absolutely torn me up inside and out and today I got word he was feeling better and starting on the incline! He is 90 years old and him and my granny still live in their house and take care of themselves. He is truly the most amazing man and now I must stop typing before I cry.

I am LOVING that I am sling free!! That's right... no more giagantic ugly sling for me! Its good and bad... good in the sense that I'm not wearing the big ugly massive of a thing. Bad because I catch it hurting a lot more! LONG road to go (like September long) but small steps are the key :)

I'm loving some new and hopefully promising things coming my way soon... Cant wait to share :)

As always.... Loving my family, my husband and most importantly Loving my God who has shown so much comfort and peace within my heart as of late. It's all within his timing and His plan....

10 Things I Love

Soo I LOVE getting tagged in new fun things. Leah over @ Happily Herring tagged me in a cute "10 Things I Loved"

Since I've never really a get to know me kinda deal (maybe my ranting and raving on life issues has taught you enough) but I thought I would give it a whirl.

10 Things I Love

1. The University of Tennessee Football
Love is not really an accurate statement. More like obsessed. More than a obsession. I bleed orange, I dream orange, I LIVE for Tennessee football. Good or bad, it truly is my love in life. Get the point?!

2. The South
I absolutely love everything and anything about living in the south- more Nashville kinda south than Atlanta kinda south. I love the southern charm, the hospitality, the big city with small town feel. I LOVE the south and everything that represents a southern girl. I truly could not live anywhere else.

3. Wine.
Yes. And I'm not ashamed of it. Wine after a bad day at work,  wine tastings, wine vineyards, wine bottles, wine labels, wine wine wine. Just one of those fun things I enjoy exploring and well... drinking for that matter. You will rarely see me drink too much but there are some things in life that are a requirement... my wine is one of them

4.Girl Time
I absolutely love my girl time. A good night out with dinner drinks and lots of gossip. It's just good for the soul. Throw in a mini vacay to the beach and I am set.

5. Speaking of beach... VACATIONS
Ask my husband... just about every 3 months I require some sort of get-away. It doesn't have to be fancy but I absolutely require time away to relax, unwind, enjoy the people I'm with and soak it all in. Vacations truly are the fruit of my spirit and stress level for that matter

6. House Hunting
Yes, you read right.... I LOVE looking for houses. Since we can't exactly move and have one right now I feel the need to satisfy myself with 1. praying I find a couple hundred thousand so I can just go ahead and buy my house, OR find what I do want so the second hubby decided to get a job and get over this school shenanigans (joking) we can hop skip and jump on it!

7. Being with my Family
I absolutely hands down LOVE being home. I would be home hanging out with the parents any day over going out or being with anyone else. My perfect weekend is at home with the hubs and the family just sitting outside relaxing with some wine enjoying the south listening to music and smelling daddy's wonderful cooking.... it doesnt get much better than that!

8. Music
I LOVE some good music. I love new artist- and by new I don't mean the Gaga's or Biebers of the world.... GOOD artist with MUSICAL talent. I constantly have music on in our house, at work, in the car and everywhere in between. My perfect night is sitting on the deck with the music on, hubby and I in good convo with some drinks in hand. PERFECT.

9.Warm Weather
I absolutely love anything and everything related to warm weather: the lake, planting flowers, sun tans, dresses, flip flops, opening the windows, sunroof, endless nights outside, the beach, Lowes trips every weekend... I LOVE it all!!

10. Decorating
This is definitely on the top of the list.... Kirklands, Lowes, Hobby Lobby, TJ Maxx, Home Goods- the list goes on and on. I LOVE being crafty making things, I LOVE decorating the house for each season, curtains, paintings, candles, even decorating the outside of our house with flowers and cute little things makes me happy happy! It truly is the little things in life....

My Turn to pass it on! Hope you enjoyed:

It's A Good Day to Be an American

Today is such a wonderful day to be an American. I am soo proud to stand behind what our troops have, are and will be doing but today was truly a day in history.

On that note I have one thing I really want to get off my chest...We just killed Bin Laden.... we have worked toward this goal for many many years. Through Bush's presidency and now Obama's presidency. Our men put their lives on the line day in and day out and many have died sacrifising for our country.... so can you please tell me why people feel the need to do a "who gets credit crap": President Obama vs George W. Bush. Are Republicans or Democrats right or wrong, how many times did Obama say 'I' or 'my'. Can you please tell me why ANY OF THAT MATTERS RIGHT NOW.

It should not matter if you love the president or hate the president, if your pissed off about gas prices, healthcare reform, budget issues or anything else the POINT is he is the leader of our country and at this moment, he is the Commander in Chief  and we need to respect him, the military leaders, our allies accross the world, our military men and women overseas and here at home, but most importantly can everyone PLEASE quit bitching for 1 day, come together as a nation and be a proud American, a proud citizen....of this ONE Nation, Under God, Indivisible, with Liberty and JUSTICE FOR ALL.

God Bless America, God Bless our troops and America... bless God and give thanks.
