Day 4- My Family and a STUPID finger!

Happy Thursday! We are almost there!! Ready for another wonderfully fall weekend! So please of please let me tell you this wonderful little story that happened last night and then we will jump in to day 4! So last night when I got home hubby and I were talking as I was opening the windows in our bedroom since the weather has been so nice (and we dont have to turn on the air =$$ in the checking account NOT the electric company) mmmkkk soo our house is an older house that was redone- with the exception of a few grumpy windows that are a bit difficult to get open. So clumsy me (as usual) was talking away trying to push the window open when that $#@* thing went FLYING up and my finger (middle finger mind you) was crushed within it. At first I truly believed it took off part of my finger or broke the whole thing. It has been a LONG time since I have experienced that much pain- over a stupid finger and stubborn window! Anywho, hubby went in to what he does best- Doctor mode! So I spent the rest of the night with my finger in ice water, drinking 1 extra glass of wine and saying not nice words every time it started throbbing! Currently it's still really swollen black and not moving very well! *typing with 9 fingers instead of 10 is also a challenge! Anywho- another typical day in the wonderful world of me. My dad laughed at me when I told him and once hubby felt safe that I wouldn't smack him he did too.... hmmpphhh! No sympathy here!

OK- So My Family....(my family is small so we are just going to cover the whole gang instead of breaking it up and getting sappy again) Well we touched on this yesterday with good ole' daddy! But here is the rundown of the rest of the gang:
Parents- Andy and Susan
They got divorced when I was 3
Step mom- Cindy- married my dad when I was 4
She had 2 children Anna and Sam (my step brother and sister)- Neither of them are married although my brother could pop the question ANYDAY now and I would be super excited! Emily (his gf) is pretty much as close to family as it gets!
Step dad- Mike. He married my mom when I was 4 as well (geez what a busy year for me). He did not have any children and they never had any more so its just ME :)
Grandparents: Bud and Shirley (GREAT old people names)- Those are my dad's parents. I am SUPER close to them. They mean the absolute word to me.
I have 1 aunt (my dads sister) 1 cousin (she is 1 month older than me) 2 great aunts and yea my family is pretty small! The Putman family (mentioned above) is really close. We all get togehter every holiday and even though we are small its always so special!

**I would LOVE to share pictures but blogger is being a pain in the butt on uploading pictures! Soo there you have it- super exciting post, no pictures, small imediate family! Happy Thursday! WAHOOOO almost Friday, which is almost the weekend, which is :) time (barring this finger quits throbbing in pain and I can function)

MMMKKK time to play Catch up- Day 3

You now probably think I'm crazy- but as I was linking up for the 30 day blog challenge my OCD kicked in and I decided I dont want to be behind throughout this whole thing soo we are going to play catch up and do day 3- WHEW it's early for this! Day 3 is First Love:

While we certainly COULD go down that road I'm not sure its exactly the RIGHT thing to do, so I will breeze over the topic and get to the main event.  My hubby is of course my main love but we didn't meet till college. I had a High School boyfriend/ first 3 years of college that would have to be my first love. Till this day I will always say he is a wonderful guy and I truly want him to be happy in life. We went through a lot together but in the end, we were young and it wasn't right. He taught me a lot and I truly think he taught me how to love and how to give so that I could open myself up for what life has to offer.... I want him to find the very best- he deserves the world. Mmmkkk enough of that!

My first love- and I truly mean FIRST LOVE was my daddy. If you know me at all you would know  I am a daddy's girl as big as they come. My dad is my best friend, my rock, my inspiration, my heart and soul, my motivation and my mentor. I have him wrapped around my finger and he is wrapped around my heart. We talk everyday, he knows me better than I know myself. He has loved me through my good times and bad, the lowest of low and the highest of high. He "gets" me like I don't even get myself at times. His advise and wisdom is incredible. I will always say if it wasn't for my dad I would not be here today. He set the bar high- sometimes unreachable high. Its hard to think my husband can never fit into my dads shoes- not because he isn't good enough-(because he is) but because there is a place in my heart that could never let those shoes be filled. I want my husband to be the father to our children that my dad was to me- I want so badly for them to have the relationship that I have with my daddy one day. It is an incredible, indescribable feeling and wordless emotions that I feel. My daddy is my first love and my last love. There is no love like a father and a daughter- especially this one!

Day 2- Meaning of my Blog

Happy Hump Day!! Thankfully this week has been going by decently fast! Well I thought I would get a jump start on Day 2 since I would like to get some wedding updates (yes our wedding that was a month and 1/2 ago) up! I am STILL waiting on pictures so they will still be the good ole candid ones! Anywho- meaning of my blog- get ready for a big long intellectual explanation:

Umm humm: Miss Southern Vol came pretty easy: at the time I was not married (MISS) I am a true southern girl at heart- I could not ever imagine living anywhere but the south. There is something so pure and sweet and polite and warm about it down here and I am completely in love (Southern). And if you haven't discovered yet I am a HUGE and I mean HUGE University of Tennessee fan (VOL). Yes i will even admit that amongst this pitiful worthless of a season we are having- if I hear someone say rebuilding team ONE more time I might scream. Ohh wait I'm getting off track.... Soo there you have it. Hubby says I need to change it to MRS SOUTHERN VOL but it just doesn't have the same ring to it! So there is the explanation of my wonderful blog!

That's about all I got folks! Probably one of the most exciting blogs i have ever written! Stay tuned for Wedding Wednesday this afternoon!

Miscellaneous Monday

Miscellany Monday @ lowercase letters

ONE: Unexpected call last night from my step dad saying my mom was being taken by ambulance to the hospital and it could be a heart attack. WOW that kicks you in the butt at 11:30 at night. As of now she is ok and they are running more test. Never think about my parents starting to have issues like this. I feel too young, they feel too young. Big wake up call.

TWO: It's October and 85 for a high today in Atlanta- This does NOT make for fall weather. Nor cool enough for me to use my outdoor fireplace! GRRRR

THREE: Soo we got a crockpot for a wedding gift which I am super excited about- however I need some awesome recipes to make. Suggestions welcomed! I just love the idea of throwing stuff in there and it being ready that night with no muss or fuss! Perfect for this laxy one here! (and hubby has a full dinner meal so I get props of being a good wife)

FOUR: The braves play again tonight in a MUST win for my bravos! If we don't win tonight it is Dunzo for the season and Dunzo forever for Bobby Cox! Can't we do anything easy?! A nice simple 3 game sweep would have been just fine for me

FIVE: I am still beaming after our Pumpkin Patch visit yesterday. It was soo much fun to relax and enjoy the simplicity and joy of a bunch of pumpkins in a field, picking out the "one", amazing cider and just the fun of it all. Its times like those that you really sit back and realize the joys of life and others beyond all the BS stuff in life!

The Bills Family pumpkin 2010

That thing weight 19 pounds!

SIX: I have GOT to HAVE to MUST quit eating before I look like this giant pumpkin! Living with a guy who could eat every 45 minutes does not help!

HAPPY MONDAY!
