Over the River and through the Ice....

Happy Thursday!! Hopefully your Thursday wasn't as adventurous or stressful as ours was. Our office at work was open today and after not being able to get out yesterday I figured I realllyy needed to make an effort today. After watching the news and watching the news and watching the news some more I decided that we would try it. Hubs doesn't want to take my car out quite yet and since I'm still limited to the one arm hubs said he would drive me out there.

So we get ready, say a prayer and off we go... yea umm BAD IDEA. 4 days after this winter storm has pounded Atlanta the roads at 10:00 am are STILL covered in ice. Absolutely insane. I live about 25 miles from work and what normally can take 45min to an hour commute took us a SOLID 2 hours to get to my office. By the time I got there all I wanted to do was turn around, go home, get a big gulp of a wine, and do nothing. My heart was pounding and my stress level was through the roof. In the words of twitter #FRUSTRATING!

Now, I feel much better on to happier thoughts... Like:

Soo I have a small obsession with house hunting! Is that weird?! I just dream of the day when we finally sign our lives away get the keys to our very own house for me to decorate, demolish, build, paint, create however I we want to! Soo without further ado I bring to you house pictures 101 (you shall notice an abundance of 1 in particular that I am stalking till no end... I.W.A.N.T!! These are all houses that are in our "general" (maybe a wee bit over) hopeful price range once hubs graduates.... ahhh a girl can dream right?!

Soo there is my Thoughtless Thursday! Home searching 101...

What I'm Loving Wednesday

Time to hook up with Jamie for a little What I'm loving Wednesday! I have missed this fun little post for a while now! The one good thing about being snowed in- I get to catch up on all my wonderful blogs and even do some blogging of my own! I have sooo many things I would love to be crafting and doing- except I need a good Hobby Lobby Trip first and well that just aint happenin' yall hear?! (Cabin fever is getting the best of me)

I am loving some good quality rest and relaxation over the past few days. It has been nice to stay in the sweats and just relax and enjoy the much needed time off!

I am loving getting to spend time with these precious babies- nothing like the love I have for my sweet fur babies

I am loving the new bridal portrait pictures my sweet amazing wedding coordinator had for me. She was not only a wonderful wedding coordinator but has turned out to be such an amazing friend as well

I am loving that I get to be snowed in with this wonderful man! There is nothing better than being stuck inside with your best friend to cook dinner, watch movies, play games and build a snowman for the past 3 days! I love him more and more each day. So fortunate to have such a blessed and happy marriage!

I hope you all are having a fantastic Wednesday! Can't wait to see what you all are loving these days! I always seem to draw a blank when typing these posts so I'm sure there is soo much more I'm missing! Off to some Say Yes to the Dress!! ADDICTING!!

Snowed in 2011 ATL Style

Soo it's officially Tuesday and we have not left the house since we got back into town Sunday afternoon. As I'm sure anyone who lives in the South can relate when the weathermen start yapping about this big bad winter storm we are going to get it typically turns out with 1/2 inch of disappointing dusting on the ground. Sunday night hubby went to work and I anxiously was awaiting this "storm" that just wasn't doing much of anything. I fell asleep for maybe an hour and woke up to at least 3 inches on the ground! It was amazing!! This followed by another 2-3 inches then some sleet then some freezing rain and well... back to my original statement... it's Tuesday and we are still snowed in~

I would share some pictures of our adventure (in the front yard) but hubby in currently in search of my USB cord for the camera... This could be interesting. Until then: this is what I managed to get off the trusted Blackberry

Anyone else snowed in? I'm starting to get a bit antsy now.... except every mall and shopping option in town is closed. Awesome!

All My Decorations are Gone.... now what?!

Does anyone else have this issue?! Its like what did my house look like before all the fall decor came out followed by the Christmas decor which is now followed by...well.... nada. It feels so bare in my house. What kind of centerpiece can I make that represents January and February?! Anyone got anything because I got nothin'

It really makes me wonder what my house looked like BEFORE the holidays. Now onto my new obsession- house, decorating blogs. Well I say new- it's not new. Maybe I should use envy. Envy because although we HAVE a house we don't well exactly own it. Which causes a small glitch when it comes to painting ripping up landscaping, knocking down walls- you get the point. I CANNOT let me repeat ABSOLUTELY CANNOT wait to have our own house that I can just truly pick apart and love and do whatever the heck I want to do.... 2 years! (Right hubby)

Right now I'm on this stripe thing- let me explain. I love the subtle stripes. I think it just brightens up a room from the normal BLAH paint. Its soo stinkin cute! I am in love and just you wait- I (we, hubby) will be a striping fool come my time of house ownership!

How freaking adorbale is this? I found her blog the other day and I have been obsessed ever since. She has the cutest ideas.
Her kitchen is soo simple and open
(Please note the cofee filter wreath she has- at least I have that going for me)
Ohh and this chalk board she has hanging on the right side if officially added to my to-do list

And my final obsession at the moment:

Decor Chick

This is all fake wainscoating. She simply just did the chair rail and the boxes and painted the rest?! How stinkin adorable. Oh and not to mention this office was their old dining room that never got used so walaa office! How practical!
Thats all for now!

And in case your wondering- NO i did not win the Mega Millions Jackpot last night. Or this blog post might have been a BIT different :)

Happy 2011!!

Only 4 days late... give me a break :) I hope you all had a fabulous New Years! I can say this year will definitely go down as a memorable New Years for me... We had 2 of our most wonderful friends and their boys down for New Years. It was soo nice to have friends come and see our house that we have worked so hard for and to be able to go out in Atlanta and celebrate just made it even more wonderful: Pictures in review

Trying to keep it simple and classy! But there was lots of fun to be had! So thankful for wonderful fun friends!

As the new year approaches we ALL try to think of what we want hope dream expect of the new year. Its a time for new adventures old closures and everything in between. Sooo here are some of mine:

FINALLY settle down in our marriage- By this I mean Im ready to just relax, spend some time at home with hubs and enjoy each other. It seems like ever since we have been married we have done nothing but spend it all in the car traveling. Ready to create our OWN schedule for once

Hubs and I are starting a new venture. I bought a Cricut a month or so back and I really want to explore my inner crafty self. I DREAM of the day where I have blogs like House of Hepworths or Thrifty Decor Chic or Young House Love where I can focus daily on decorating crafts and everything in between. For now though hubs and I are going to open an Etsy site and see where that goes

Like the rest of the free world I would love to lose some weight- just want to get down to where I was at the wedding- seems easy until I look back and remember how many weeks I probably DIDNT eat due to stress... ambitious :)

I really want to find my niche here in Atlanta- still feel like a lost  puppy at times and it can get quite lonely. So thankful for a wonderful beyond blessed hubby but sometimes there is nothing like a good group of great girlfriends, the bachelor and some wine!

Well here is to 2011- can't wait to see what you bring

*The 335 million jackpot tonight would be a great start- just sayin
